The Celanese Foundation is an employee-led effort dedicated to improving the quality of life for people around the world. Our investments go directly to the charities we believe in and support through our own dollars and volunteer time.
The Foundation is Growing
Initially established in Dallas in 2013, the Foundation is now a global enterprise, expanding our ability to create sustainable improvements in communities far and wide.
What it Means to be Employee-Led
Through partnerships in our communities, Celanese employees guide our decision-making process and are involved in all aspects of our community support.
The Foundation is run by Celanese employees with oversight from the foundation board. Local site committees determine the selection of charities to support, guided by employee interests. Read about the Celanese Foundation Board.
As an employee-led effort, our Foundation investments go directly to the charities we believe in and support through our own dollars and volunteer time.
Funding is Determined by Employee Interest and Active Support
The Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is funded through employee contributions that are matched dollar for dollar by Celanese Corporation, whose additional monetary contributions finance all administrative and operating costs and provide above-and-beyond investment in the communities where we live and work.
The financial driver of the Celanese Foundation is the Annual Employee Giving Campaign, where employees are asked to make donations to the organizations and agencies they have selected as most worthwhile endeavors. All of the money raised in the annual campaigns go directly to the charity – all of it; no handling fee, no middle men.
We focus on initiatives to improve the fundamental living conditions of people, with a special focus on families and children. Organizations that receive funding have missions aligned with the Foundation’s focus areas of families, primary education and safe places to live and grow.

Collaboration is at the Heart of our Foundation’s Ability to Succeed
In our effort to make a significant and lasting impact, Celanese and the Celanese Foundation offer a variety of programs that draw on resources from across our global organization. Around the world, Celanese employees volunteer their time and talents to the organizations and the communities where we live and work. These resources come in a variety of forms – through partnerships with charities, employee giving, and community involvement.
In addition to financial support, the Celanese Foundation enriches communities through a variety of programs including the Employee Volunteer Program, the Matching Gifts Program, the Annual Employee Giving Campaign, Global Impact Week, the Celanese International Impact Program, and the Annual Celanese Foundation Golf Outing benefitting the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.

We Welcome Your Partnership
Employee involvement is critical to the success of the Celanese Foundation. To ensure that our investments go to the charities our employees believe in and support through their own dollars and volunteer time, organizations and agencies most likely to be considered for funding are those who sponsored by a Celanese employee.
Organizations and agencies that would like to be considered for a Celanese Foundation gift can send an email to CelaneseFoundation@celanese.com. In those locations where the Celanese Foundation is operational, local site committees review contribution requests annually beginning in May, prior to the start of the annual giving cycle in August. Be sure to let us know if you have a Celanese employee or a group of employees actively volunteering on a regular basis or as members of your organization’s board.
